received a call from one of my partners just a moment ago to confirm my placement in Ernst & Young during the coming vacation break. whee~ i really appreciate their effort in helping me link up with EY's audit partners to see if i could work in the audit dept to gain more exposure and i believe this will greatly help me in deciding what i really wanna do in the future : )
my partners are just awesome!
as anticipated, the lunch went smoothly and we talked at length about all the different career alternatives i can opt for in the near future. and somehow we digressed and touched on light hearted topics like my hobbies, swimming, tuition centres, shares, recruitment night and you get the drift. heh. it was so enjoyable, it's almost like as though i am talking to my seniors! they make me feel so at ease, although occasionally they will go, "so when can you start work next year?" and "We'll be sad to see you at the recruitment night cos' you have already been recruited!" and "our firm offer still stands". They mentioned about meeting me up regularly to
remind me about the possibility of joining them. was telling them about my scary Goldman Sachs experience yesterday and one of the partners went, " you can tell them you are an ambassador too! you are an ambassador of Ernst & Young GST department!" Muahaha~ and the three of us just roar in laughter.
one of the partners said,"i can drink coffee and fall asleep the next minute." and i went, "Wow! then you must be really tired!" he agreed and kept laughing for at least a minute. heh.
the partners wanted me to ask if any of my friends are interested in joining the GST team and if they are keen, i can help forward the CV directly to them and they even ask me to endorse on it. heh. they suggested this crazy idea of joining them with my best friend so we can work together! but too bad, my best friend is a pharmacist-to-be : )
on a serious note, i told them about my intention in applying PWC and after which, i felt so guilty : ( they were totally open and nice about it and unknown to them, it adds on to my guilt.
as for now, i shall just work in EY during the vacation and take baby steps to discover what i really want.
i love ernst and young.
lalala~ i'm so happy. i shall do my work and reward myself with gelare ice cream later! tuesday is ice scream day! : )
