All the best to me.

Just a short and sweet entry before I get down to work (project work to be exact).

The intensive 1 hour interview @ Shell House today was indeed an eye opener. It is no doubt they are the winner of the 4th annual HRM Awards for the EMPLOYER OF CHOICE. Prior to the interview, I was pretty nervous, trying to anticipate the type of questions they will ask (like spotting for exam questions!) and frantically trying to stuff all the history of SHELL into my small lil brain.

I was too early for my appointment which is scheduled at 3pm (I reached at abt 2.25pm) and was asked to take a seat to wait for my turn. At the holding area, there were many other undergraduates waiting for their turn and needless to say, nervousness was written all over their face. I kept my cool and maintain my composure, and attempted to strike a conversation with the person seated just beside me.

Shortly, the receptionist called and ushered us (3 of us from NTU) to the HR department to meet our respective interviewer. My interviewer was Michelle, a very pleasant lady.

Most of the questions are actually targeted at my non-academic achievements, in particular, my ability to plan and overcome difficulties. That was just the first part of the interview. The worst is yet to come haha. Then she continued by asking me questions pertaining to my leadership abilities as well as the ability to work with others in a team. Personally, the first and second part of the interview wasn't much of a problem but the third section was a major killer. They asked me questions which require me to analyze and think really hard, within that split second. Questions like, "IN 1 or 2 sentence/s, explain why do you think there is a need for universities?", "What are the pros and cons of having universities?", "If you are the education minister, what would you change about universities?", "what changes will you see in universities in 5 years time?". It is really this part of the interview which is challenging and nerve-wrecking! And my responses were quite crappy, though I do see my interviewer nodding her head at times when I try to make my point across heh.

Though I do not think my chances of securing an internship with SHELL is high, this interview experience is really a learning experience for me and it also helps prepare me for my EY interview on Thurs : ) With this in mind, thou will jia you for my EY interview on thurs. May peace be with me!

p/s: This part is specially dedicated to mr coconut-y who sent me an email of possible interview questions EY might ask and because he survived the interview, the list of questions is truly valuable to me! Thanks a million! : )

Alright, I am going back to work. Enjoy the recess my dear friends. Loves.

As I am typing this entry, Del Norte Paper Company (AA202) is kinda lingering at the back of my mind and it makes me feel very uneasy. No wait, I am not SLACKING, but I am waiting for everyone to send me their part before I compile and do all the editing. Deadline? TONIGHT! Goodness Gracious MeEEEE!!! i think I have to forfeit my sleep tonight to complete the (not so easy) report. It only takes 5 seconds to make a good first impression and I spent 100 bucks (just today) to create a good first impression for my interview with Shell tomorrow. I have researched a lil about the company and realized that the dynamic and challenging work environment kinda suit me better. heh. Oh well, I will just do my best for the interview tml! Okie, just a short entry, I am going back to compile my Del Norte Paper! : )

Just a side note, I just conquered my part of the report and the feeling can be described in one word - SHIOK! MUAHAHA~ I swear this is the toughest report I had to write for the past 5 years, but I did it anyway, I am happy! WeeEeee! : ) To reward myself for staying at home to complete my work, I am going for an overnight mahjong + gambling session with the usual gang at Danny's house! Massive gathering at his place today, Jun, Eunice, Alan, Alvin, DaXiong, ZhenZhen, Danny & of cos MEEEEE!! I love all of them! : ) Sudden craving for maggie mee + lotsa egg! MUAHAHA~ I still prefer my maggie mee to abalone. If you ask me, abalone is the worst tasting food and I will gladly choose my maggie mee over it! : ) Alright, running late. Gotta run now! Happy new year everybody! Gong xi fa cai! Lotsa love.

I got shortlisted for interview with Ernst & Young and I am gonna give my best for this interview. I know that by committing to this, I am agreeing to working overtime till maybe 8-9pm but strangely, I am still stupidly hoping that they will select me. : ) My interview is 9.30am on 28 Feb 2007, wish me luck! And ... Team Sunshine went for a pre-reunion dinner yesterday! MUAHAHA~ To think that people are still TRYING VERY HARD to break us up! They didn't know that all of us are happily enjoying the steamboat and they are still fretting over who went to SAO. After we decided to let the matter rest, now they are claiming that we went to SAO. They are really pushing their luck too far this time. Madness. We didnt go to SAO, thou we have all the right to, WE DIDNT. See this properly and I repeat again, NONE OF US WENT TO SAO. If there is anything you wish to clarify you come to me directly. Stop doing all these small lil actions behind, it's disgusting. You are the one who wanted to go to SAO and even seek legal advice (I still have the sms with me), so it is mind games you are playing with us? You know it best. Soooooooooo terrible and disgusting la these ppl. Happy new year ppl! I am gonna pack my room! : )

Hi guys, A note to say that your report on Kanthal is excellent - exhaustive coverage, well threaded and well written! Keep it up. Chan Ying Lock Quite sad to say that this is the only positive thing which happened for the week as of now. And it is an encouragement for me, cause I stayed through the night to compile the report and my effort paid off. I am happy. A sumptuous pre-reunion dinner with the usual gang (Eunice, Jun, Alan, Danny) this friday! We are going out to reward ourselves for clinching the first place celeebrate our victory! Nothing is gonna bring us down, our friendship is far more geniune than what all of you think. I heart all of you, Team Sunshine is the best! : ) Nanyang Chronicles called to interview me about the event and even quoted me on some of the things I say. This is the best chance to get back at all of them for doing these to us. But I didnt, and I'm glad I didn't. I just mentioned that the prize will be donated back to AWWA and that "the children needs it more." Thats about all. After this incident, I really cant bring myself to smile or talk to them anymore and they cant really blame me for that. Or maybe, I just need some time to come to terms with it. And these people are the ones you see in hall and in school, how ironic. Why did all of you do this to us? Why???? And I am puzzled and frustrated at how someone handled the whole situation, to the point I am clueless. Both times when you threaten to end the friendship, I got angry and lose my cool, because you took our friendship ever so lightly. We are still waiting for you to come back. This is getting a tad too serious, ok i promise no more serious entries already! I am (finally) going shopping today! To do some last minute shopping for new year clothes! Yayness : ) Happy Chinese New Year!! : )

It's been quite some time since I last updated my blog. The 3D2N fundraising event was a great success except for a major problem which occurred at the end of the entire event. Integrity was being questioned, friendship was put at stake. It doesnt matter how you wanna twist the story, the fact is that it wasnt a fair game because you didnt win it fair and square. You know for yourself you didnt. And don come questioning us if we could raise close to $1,000 in 5 hours, because we indeed went to 6th avenue and the people didnt think much of parting with their $10 just for charity. Believe it or not. We are innocent and we do not have to prove our innocence. Winning first or second is not our agenda. The 3.5k will be donated back to AWWA. We just want all of you to know that we win the game fair and square and if there is any question of integrity, I think all of you have to reflect on that. How all of you have taken out 'intention' in this whole case, how all of you twisted the story around and leave out the part of the story which so clearly reveal your intention to collaborate and cheat, how all of u just push the entire blame to the organizers, it totally disgusts me, totally. When I was at the meeting yesterday, I was very much disgusted at all of you and all your groundless logics, about not being able to do maths, about it being a bad joke, about doing wrong things when one is tired or being pressurized by peers, all these doesnt stand. You cant just dismiss it by just saying ppl can do wrong when they are tired or pressured. Are we not tired? But we didnt do it the wrong way. This is totally unacceptable and absurb. That is not a reason to substantiate what all of you have done and the intent behind it. Yes, we are the rightful winners. We are the owners of 3.5k and we should be rejoicing and celebrating but we are not. Why? Because all of you didnt really believe in your heart we won the game fair and square with our sweat and even call another of my team mates to question our integrity after the meeting. What does this mean? Then why did you nod your head when I ask if you believe we win fair and square during the meeting and right after the meeting question us again? If there is anyone who didnt play it fairly, it's all of you, not us. I said in the meeting I can look at all of you in the eyes and say we win the game fairly, can all of you walk with your head up and say you played the game fairly? You can ask me 1000 times and I will still tell you that Team Sunshine win the game fair and square and we are the rightful winner. After the meeting yesterday, we were practically disgusted to the max and we wanted to pursue this matter. If we are for the money and the title, we would have stop right after we are re-instated the title and got the 3.5k. It is frustrating, because they dont get it. They dont see that they are wrong. They are ultimately not convinced that we are the rightful winnners. We wanted to bring this up to SAO or seek legal advice regarding this, and we are still trying to see if we can reach an agreement. A public apology is a must because you spread untrue information all around and defame us, we are insistent on this. You WERE our senior and we trusted you. We dont care about all the others, but we trusted you. But let me tell you, you disappoint us totally and at the meeting yesterday you can still come up with groundless logic and illogical proposal to let us be re-instated first and the money shall go to your team without any remorse. Let me tell you again, we are the rightful winners and the money will all be donated back to charity. Your sister will be very utterly disappointed with you. Thou we are not close to you as you have said, we respected you and have high regards for you because of your sister. I hope she will not agree to what you have done. All of you can continue telling others about the untrue story and hide the part of the story which so clearly states that all of you have the intent to collaborate to help each other win (we verify and confirm this at the meeting), and say that we are sore losers trying so hard to be first, but the fact is, we are the 1st and we are not ashamed of it. All of you should be ashamed of all your actions and very wrong intentions and not trying to twist the story around and try to justify your actions. Integrity will go a very long way. And it is definitely not justifiable to say that it is acceptable for a person to do wrong because he cant think properly when he is tired or pressurised. All of the above is being discussed at the meeting and all of you can challenge me if I am wrong.
