Alright, let me count, i missed 4 lessons this week and tomorrow i am finally going to school, for my tax lesson. This lesson is too precious to miss. Cos if i happen to miss tax lesson, i will run the risk of failing for the exam and i mean it. Taxation in uni is so different from the tax i used to study back in poly. That is what happens when the statutory rules and regulations kept changing cos they are fickle and couldnt decide on what they want. Poor us, we have to study all the changes they have made just so as to keep ourselves relevant in this ever changing world.
Recently, i found another reason to love SMU.
My MA prof actually exempt me for my quiz with no questions asked. No death certificates needed, no make up quiz, nothing. Just a short and skimpy email to inform him that my grandfather just passed on and I am TOTALLY exempted from it. If i were in NTU, i bet i had to prove that it's genuine by submitting the death certificate of my ah gong and i might even have to sit for a make up quiz to make up for my absence. But right here in SMU, i am just exempted which means my results will be based on Quiz 1 & 2 which i already scored 210 out of 200, which is quite funny. The prof promised us that the 10 marks in excess will be carried forward to be utilized in the final exam. This again, is something which NTU doesnt belive in.
I am so bored right now, to the point i actually bought a copy of CLEO and newpaper off the counter to ease my boredom. I had to do something. Be it reading or blogging, i just wanna do SOMETHING.
I will start on my tax workshop later.
The keyword is 'later'. I wanna do some work which doesnt require me to think. Give my brain a break.
I am down with bad stomach upset since this morning and apparently, it seems to get worse each time. My throat is also inflammed due to the clouds of smoke from all the burning of incense paper and the harmful cigarette smoke. Argh. I am fine with smokers, as long as their huffs and puffs and their deathly smoke dont affect me. Did i mention that my ah ma caught my sister smoking at the hawker centre? And my silly sister blamed me for not alerting her about ah ma's presence. OMG. HAHA~ Apparently, ah ma just creeps up behind her and innocently ask her, "what are you doing here?" in hokkien. Though ah ma is already 75, she is still clear minded and aware that my sis is holding a cigarette and puffing away. Nottie sis. I hope she quits smoking soon, and i mean real soon. Smoking has caused a big hole in her pocket and she usually depletes all her money before her next paycheck comes. I have done my part by telling her the 9999999999th time that smoking reflects badly on her (especially when she is a girl) and it'll be tougher to quit smoking when she gets older. As usual, she doesn't listen and calls me a nag.
Through it all, i have decided to be nicer to mommy, my sister and my ah ma. My ah ma painstakingly brought up all her children and she is a simple woman with a kind heart. At times (maybe most of the time), she might be a lil too naggy but her intentions are good. I am a very bad tempered gerl at home and i wanna change to be a more peaceful gerl. I know it's hard, but i'll try.
I think it's important to be a appreciative of all the lil things in life and for that matter, i wanna thank all my friends who have helped me in one way or another when i was at the wake for the past few days.
With this, i shall end this entry with a narcissistic picture of myself.

Angel, in disguise.
